Treating Acne: Granites Natural Treatment

Acne is a problem that affects people around the world. Some suffer more than others. Many turn to prescription acne treatments when over-the-counter products fail to clear their skin. Others are reluctant to use commonly prescribed acne drugs like Accutane because of the potential for serious side effects. Some find that prescription acne medications simply don't work for them. For those who prefer to try a homeopathic acne remedy, granites natural treatment may be the perfect solution.

If you think using rocks to treat acne sounds unusual, you're not alone. However, many people who use granite for natural acne treatment swear by it. In fact, some claim that nothing else ever worked until they tried this treatment. The active ingredient is silica, which works by breaking down and removing toxins in the body. There are two ways to obtain silica: from nature and from a drugstore or homeopath.

For the purist, getting silica from nature is the only way to go. Silica is derived from the compound silicon dioxide. And yes, it's the substance that is used to produce glass. Don't worry, though; you won't be swallowing glass. Instead, silica can be extracted from red granite and pebbles. You'll need a medium-sized piece of red granite and several small, white, semi-transparent stones. Wash them all thoroughly before beginning. Using a hammer, break apart larger pieces first. Then pound all of the stones together into a fine powder. Make sure that you get most of the inner core of the granite. You've just created silica.

Next, mix your powder with a liter of mineral water. Mix it well (shaken, not stirred). Using a clear bottle is best because you can see exactly what's going on inside. Let the mixture settle for about 10 minutes, then pour off one-third of the water. The solution that you pour off becomes your acne treatment. The solution should be taken internally. You only need about one teaspoon three times per day to start. Don't worry about drinking sediment: most of the larger pieces of rock will have been discarded in the original solution. While you'll be drinking some sediment, it will be very fine and barely noticeable.

Many acne sufferers begin to see results within just a few days. If you aren't seeing the results you want and you aren't suffering any adverse effects, you can increase your dosage slightly after a few days. If the idea of drinking rocks bothers you, you can make a silica mask instead. Mix the sediment from the bottom of your water bottle with 1,000 milligrams of crushed, uncoated aspirin. Add just enough mineral water to make a spreadable paste. Using this mixture twice a day may also produce satisfactory results for many acne sufferers.

For those who don't trust their instincts for chemistry, silica can be purchased in stores that sell homeopathic remedies. It is, of course, considerably easier than hunting for and grinding up rocks. Silica usually comes in a tablet form. Follow the dosage recommended on the package. Again, you may be able to increase this dosage if you aren't experiencing any negative side effects.

Visiting a homeopath may be your best option. A professional can give you qualified advice, and may be able to mix a solution and find a dosage that is just right for your particular skin condition. You may find that granites natural treatment is the only one that works for your acne.
