Celebrities stand for a great many things. For us ordinary folk, they stand for hopes and dreams, our aspirations made flesh. They are the most beautiful, the most talented, the most popular - they are everything we wish we could be. And what we wish we could be is perfect. So what do we think of celebrities with acne and other physical disorders?

Acne is something that happens to nearly all of us. And given how those of us who must suffer through severe acne problems are ridiculed in society, we are led to think - surely celebrities with acne don't exist? Surely they are perfect people who can afford to rub out that very human part of themselves, and face every day shiny and flawless like they're made of silk and fiberglass?

Alas, there are indeed such celebrities. More and more celebrities are, in fact, coming forward to admit that they have skin problems that are remedied by makeup, special effects and of course, acne medication. Even they turn to their dermatologists to remedy their skin problems.

This is quite normal for teenage stars like Leonardo diCaprio and formerly Britney Spears. Young stars like Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan even endorse over-the-counter (OTC) acne medication, freely sharing with the public their tales of how treatment helped alleviate their condition.

Keira Knightley, currently one of Hollywood's youngest and hottest actresses, has even gone so far as to admit that she has "awful" skin, and that her public image is frequently touched up. This is achieved through makeup and photo manipulation. However, like many of Hollywood's finest faces, she can rely on a good dermatologist to help her keep her severe acne condition in check.

Older stars are most certainly not immune to adult acne. The famous Brangelina pair has also been caught with a prominent pimple or two on camera. The beauteous Cameron Diaz and Renee Zellweger have been nothing but up-front about their acne conditions.

So the next time your pimples make you feel unpretty, just take a look at famous celebrities with acne. They're still perfect in the eyes of the world - moreso because now the world knows they don't let the acne get them down!
